A penectomy is an operation that removes all or part of the penis in hopes of eliminating any sign of penile cancer.

What happens during the procedure:

The urologist removes all or part of the penis in order to prevent further growth of penile cancer. An opening between the scrotum and anus is created for the patient to urinate through following surgery.
